Phoenix! Do you like to dream and imagine? Have you been waiting to take your chances with a Killshot at the best concert of the season? Ever owned a CD Disk?! If any of the above are true, then you’re in luck - up and coming superstars Magdalena Bay are blessing the stage at the Arizona Financial Theatre on Tuesday, September 23rd - and we’re all invited!
With over fifty dates scheduled across the world from Spring to Autumn, the alternative pop group has graced us with a host of more dates on their North American tour leg - and the Financial Theatre is one of them! Their second album, Imaginal Disk, has been well received across the airwaves - so no wonder they’re selling out shows in Australia, New York, Barcelona, and soon… Arizona!
Tickets are on sale NOW and starting at $124 - so they’re bound to go fast. Grab yours today, and bring all your friends, too!
Magdalena Bay is the Miami born pop duo that you need to know. Their Imaginal Mystery Tour is their first show in Phoenix’s Arizona Financial Theatre, and the performance on September 23rd comes on the heels of their widely popular second album Imaginal Disk which is touring around the world to the tune of fifty shows. The group is composed of high school friends Mica Tenebaum and Matthew Lewin, who came up with the name Magdalena Bay during their college years and while making music together remotely. They make hit pop albums, informative TikToks about the music industry, and green screen visuals that are so trippy and so cool - these guys aren’t the group to sleep on.
For their second project, the group wanted to make something different than the normal pop melodies they explored on their first project, Mercurial World. Don’t be fooled - the album had major success in the indie, synthpop, and electronica worlds, with a sold out tour and Billboard chart ratings to show for it. But Mica mentions how the couple wanted their new album to feel like nostalgia, stating “There’s really endless stories that could go with the lyrics and the music, whether it’s personal to someone listening to it or personal to me writing the lyrics or whether it’s this other music video world that we’re putting over it,” and “We write the music and then we figure out how it all fits together,”.
Their hard work and dedication has been widely accepted by the mainstream pop scene, opening for Charli XCX’s 2022 CRASH Tour, they played at Porter Robinson’s Second Sky festie, and have had Grimes remix their song Image. The group is ready for their first headlining tour around the world, and we’re so glad to welcome them to the Financial Theatre this September on the 23rd.
This group is truly as mercurial as their first album, so while we can’t be too sure what they’ll play on the 2025 tour, here is the setlist from their show in Miami Beach performance at the Tribeca Film Festival:
