Arizona Financial Theatre
Palomazo Norteño is making its way to the Arizona Financial Theatre, and if you're a fan of Mexican regional music, you know this is a night you can't afford to miss. The four legends of norteño that make up this show, Lalo Mora, Eliseo Robles, Rosendo Cantú, and Raúl Hernández, will be taking the Phoenix stage on Friday, July 25th.
This is one of the few concerts that you can be a part of where the performers are not going to be using any gimmick to get your attention. This is an old-school bailongo that will have people up off their feet dancing, singing at the top of their lungs, and maybe shedding a few tears. These four performers have a hand in creating some of the most memorable songs in the genre. Raúl Hernández was a "Tigre del Norte" for crying out loud. It doesn't get more iconic than that! The four legends that will be taking the stage at the Arizona Financial Theater sing the majority of the sad norteño songs that you or your uncles play at cookouts. That's one of the elements that makes Palomazo Norteño so relatable. The way that the show is set up also helps a ton! As mentioned, don't expect to see a super production with amazing visuals; that's not what you're here for. It's going to be the 4 of them at a table sipping on some tequila. At one point in the show, two of them might get up to do a duet. Since Raul Hernandez, for example, does a lot of backing tunes with the accordion, he might be up on his feet for most of the show.
Other than that, what they truly do is take turns singing some of their most iconic tracks. Sure, there are moments with some classics that all four of them are going to be performing. There's not a lot of structure to the show, though. These icons are up there, going off the cuff. This means that you can get all sorts of songs coming from the stage, even if neither of the four was the original singer. It's likely booking your favorite norteño, and at one point, they'll take suggestions from the crowd on what to play next. That's just how relaxed the atmosphere from this show ends up being.
There are a few things that you'll want to keep in mind as you pick your seats for this event. In a sense, there's no special seating arrangement. They'll be up on stage and have the pit area available and then the regular setup behind that. If you want to be close to the action the pit surely where you'll want to be, however, there might be other things you'll want to consider.
