His upcoming album is said to be an ode to his roots. Looking back at his home-rooted musical and personal influences, it’s a record that’ll take you back to the man’s history. Unleashing the ‘black panther’ in him, you can expect big surprises as LA PANTERA NEGRA hits the shelves.

“There was a legendary person in my neighborhood [Quintana, in Río Piedras] who had several panthers as pets. One escaped and it was a mess. So I said, ‘I’m from here. I’m the black panther of Quintana,’” he told Billboard Español, as cited from Billboard.com

Known for his genre-bending craft with prominent elements of rap and reggaeton, Towers has been keeping it real all these years. Looking back to where it started, “I was a little kid with a backpack, and he was in a huge Cadillac,” Towers told Billboard about the time he saw Tego Calderón. “When you see that in real life, you don’t forget. Tego saw just another kid. But for me — on my way to school — that was a Kodak moment. You get it? It was, ‘Wow, if Tego did it, how can I do it my way?’”

That point in time struck young Towers, marking himself as a Puerto Rican rapper whose edge comes in singing reggaetón. Sharing how the album will take him back to what he loves doing musically, and “to what people liked about my essence from the beginning, when they got to know me and said, ‘This kid has the goods.’”, the man’s reminding us that he sure is the real deal.

Taking it all to the live stage, you’re in to experience the REALest MYKE TOWERS. A night packed with his best hits and new tracks, it’s gonna be a fiery set. We’re betting on "Almas Gemelas", "Ulalá", "Lala", and "Adivino" to make it on the list.
