Indie folk sensationsThe Head and The Heart have announced their hottest new trek, that includes a stop in Phoenix, Arizona! The band is hitting the road and taking their highly anticipated North American Tour to the stunning Arizona Financial Theatre on Tuesday 30th September 2025. The tour comes in support of The Head and The Heart’s upcoming album, Aperture. Due out on May 9 through Verve Forecast, this is their first self-produced album since their self-titled 2011 debut. Of the upcoming album, the band’s Matty Gervais says, “I believe we’ve made a very great record together.” In celebration of Aperture, The Head and the Heart teased the single “Arrow” in 2024. The Head and The Heart have recently announced a North American tour, kickstarting on May 31 in Detroit, MI, and winding down on October 10 in Knoxville, TN. Special guests Futurebirds, Anna Graves, Wild Rivers, Marfa, Wilderado, Katie Pruitt, The Teskey Brothers, Tyler Ballgame, and John Vincent III will be joining the band on stage for select shows. The tour includes a New York City appearance at SummerStage at Central Park on July 30 (with Wild Rivers and Marfa), and an Asbury Park, NJ performance at Stone Pony Summer Stage on July 31 (with Wilderado and Marfa). One of the most anticipated stops of the trek is at the stunning Arizona Financial Theatre on September 30.
The Head and The Heart have recently broken silence on their sixth LP, Aperture. Due out on May 9 through Verve Forecast, this is their first self-produced album since their self-titled 2011 debut. They also shared another new track, “After The Setting Sun.” Matty Gervais hails it an “an invitation to wake up in the present moment recognizing that it is all we have, in all its contradictions of beauty and pain, joy and despair, unfathomable vastness and impermanence.”
If you didn’t already know, The Head and the Heart is an awesome indie folk band. Formed in the summer of 2009, the project began by Josiah Johnson (vocals, guitar, percussion) and Jonathan Russell (vocals, guitar, percussion). The Head and the Heart currently includes Russell, Charity Rose Thielen (violin, guitar, vocals), Chris Zasche (bass), Kenny Hensley (piano), Tyler Williams (drums), and Matt Gervais (guitar, vocals). So far, the Warner Bros. Records-signed band have released five albums, all to great critical acclaim!
