Switchfoot is a Grammy Award winning rock band hailing from San Diego, California. The four piece draws inspiration from industry heavyweights U2, The Beatles, and Keith Green, as well as the vocal "strength and vulnerability" of Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash, and carves up their own distinctive sound. "We've never fit in any of the genre boxes," says chief vocalist Jon Foreman. "I think that diversity is our strength". Switchfoot isn’t just about great music, but retrospective lyrics. From references to philosophers like Søren Kierkegaard with "Sooner or Later (Soren's Song)" to poets like T. S. Eliot with "The Hollow Men," this quartet “make music for thinking people." The talented group is made up of Jon Foreman (lead vocals, keyboards, piano, lead guitar, rhythm guitar), Tim Foreman (bass, backing and occasional lead vocals, occasional acoustic guitar), Chad Butler (drums, percussion), and Jerome Fontamillas (keyboards, piano, rhythm guitar, backing vocals).
This talented group will be joined by Texan rock band Blue October. Formed in 1995, current members include singer/guitarist Justin Furstenfeld, drummer Jeremy Furstenfeld, multi-instrumentalist Ryan Delahoussaye, bassist Matt Noveskey, and lead guitarist Steve Schiltz. Just last year, the platinum-certified alternative quartet released their Spinning The Truth Around (Part II), and part three of the series is set to follow this year. Landing on the coveted #1 spot on the iTunes Top Alternative Rock Albums chart, Blue October has proved time and again they’re a staple in the scene. "Down Here Waiting" was such a hit that it became a mainstay in the alternative chart for an incredible six months! What’s more, Matt Nathanson is bringing his awesome blend of folk and rock and roll music to the mix. This fella doesn’t only sing, but plays acoustic (sometimes a 12-string!) and electric guitar.
